From Iconic Beaches to Volcanic Wonders â A Jet Set Journal Experience
Hawaii isnât just a destinationâitâs a feeling. The moment you step off the plane, the warm air, the scent of plumeria, and the rhythm of the ocean instantly shift your mindset.
Our journey through Hawaii was the perfect blend of luxury, adventure, culture, and natural beauty, spanning multiple islands and unforgettable experiences. From historic beachfront resorts to volcanic landscapes and serene temples, this was a trip that truly had it all.
Â

Thereâs no better way to begin a Hawaiian getaway than checking into the legendary Moana Surfrider, A Westin Resort & Spa. Known as the âFirst Lady of Waikiki,â this historic oceanfront resort blends timeless elegance with modern luxury.
Waking up here meant:
Itâs the kind of place where mornings are slow, sunsets are golden, and every moment feels elevated.

A visit to the Dole Plantation is both nostalgic and delicious.
From the famous Dole Whip to walking through pineapple fields, this stop offers a lighthearted break from the beaches. Itâs touristyâbut in the best wayâand a fun way to connect with Hawaiiâs agricultural roots.
Driving the legendary Road to Hana on Maui is less about the destination and more about the journey. With over 600 curves and dozens of one-lane bridges, itâs an adventure through lush rainforest, waterfalls, and dramatic coastal views.
One of our favorite stops was Twin Falls, where short trails lead to refreshing waterfalls tucked into the jungle. Itâs the perfect place to pause, take a dip, and soak in the untouched beauty of Maui.
đ Jet Set Tip: Start early and take your timeâthis isnât a drive you want to rush.

The Big Island feels like another world entirely.
At Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, witnessing KÄ«lauea is both humbling and surreal. The raw power of the earth is on full displayâsteam vents, lava fields, and landscapes that look almost otherworldly.
Further south, South Point offers dramatic cliffside views at the southernmost point of the United States. Windswept and rugged, itâs a place that reminds you how vast and untamed Hawaii truly is.
Nearby, PunaluÊ»u Black Sand Beach delivers one of the most unique coastal experiences in the islands. Jet-black volcanic sand contrasts against turquoise waves, and if youâre lucky, youâll spot Hawaiian green sea turtles basking in the sun.

Back on Oahu, we experienced one of the most romantic moments of the tripâa sunset dinner cruise aboard the Star of Honolulu.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, the sky transformed into shades of orange, pink, and gold. Paired with fine dining, live entertainment, and panoramic ocean views, it was the perfect blend of elegance and island charm.
âš Jet Set Moment: Watching the Waikiki skyline glow at sunset from the water is something youâll never forget.

No trip to Hawaii is complete without time spent on Waikiki Beach.
From early morning swims to golden-hour lounging, Waikiki offers the perfect balance of energy and relaxation.
For a more adventurous take, we boarded a barefoot catamaran cruise, sailing along the coast with the wind in our hair and nothing but ocean views in every direction. Itâs casual, fun, and one of the best ways to experience Hawaiiâs coastline.

The hike up Diamond Head is one of Oahuâs most iconic experiences.
The trail winds through tunnels, steep stairs, and rugged terrain before opening up to breathtaking panoramic views of Waikiki and the Pacific Ocean.
đ Jet Set Tip: Go early in the morning to avoid the heat and crowdsâand to catch the best lighting for photos.

A visit to Pearl Harbor is a deeply moving experience.
Standing above the USS Arizona Memorial, you feel the weight of history and the importance of remembrance. Itâs a moment of reflection that adds depth and meaning to your Hawaiian journey.

Tucked in the lush Valley of the Temples, the Byodo-In Temple offers a peaceful contrast to Hawaiiâs more adventurous excursions.
Surrounded by mountains and koi ponds, this non-practicing Buddhist temple invites quiet reflection. The sound of the bell, the stillness of the water, and the beauty of the architecture create a moment of calm that feels worlds away from the busy beaches.
Hawaii is one of those rare destinations that truly offers something for everyoneâluxury, adventure, culture, and natural wonder, all in one place.
From sipping coffee at the Moana Surfrider to standing at the edge of a volcano, from sailing at sunset to hiking above Waikiki, every moment feels like a postcard brought to life.
But what makes Hawaii unforgettable isnât just what you seeâitâs how it makes you feel:
And thatâs the true essence of luxury travel.
If youâre visiting multiple islands like we did, allow enough time to fully experience each one. Oahu, Maui, and the Big Island each offer something completely uniqueâand rushing through them means missing the magic.
